ENG : If my memory serves me well, this piece was made, like others, from the offcuts of other experimental slab-ware items. I had discovered Kurt SCHWITTERS by this time, and so is this is my very own exploration of the MERZ principle of making art out of anything to hand. For some of them the construction was just as fragile as KS’ works and despite stoneware kiln firing and vitrified glazing, did not survive.
FR : Si ma mémoire ne me trompe pas, cet article, comme d’autres, était fabriqué des chutes d’ autres exercices expérimentaux en poterie à construction de dalle. J’ avais déjà découvert l’ oeuvre de Kurt SCHWITTERS, et ceci serait donc ma propre exploration du principe MERZ en “faisant feu (de l’ art) de tout bois”. Pour certains articles dans le genre, la construction était aussi fragile que les oeuvres de KS lui-même, et nonobstant la transformation au four en grès et des émaux vitrifiés, n’ ont ps survécu.
IT : Se la mia memoria mi serve bene ancora, questo articolo, come d’ altri, era fabbricato dagli scarti di altri esercizi sperimentali in materia di ceramiche costruite con delle lastre. Avevo già scoperto l’ opera di Kurt SCHWITTERS, e questa sarebbe dunque la mia propria esplorazione de principio MERZ di fare dell’ arte di tutto sotto mano. Per alcuni articoli del genere, la costruzione era quanto fragile che le opere dello stesso KS, e nonostante la trasformazione a fornace in gres con smalti vetrificati, non hanno sopravvissuto.
