Rialto Market

Venice Biennale, 1985

Theme chosen from amongst those proposed by the Biennale’s 3rd International Exhibition of Architecture — my participation in which had been solicited on personal invitation from the nominated Director (my former employer, the architect Aldo ROSSI), a privilege and honour which were not to be despised.

Indeed, however fictitious, it seemed like a real opportunity.

My collaboration with the recently registered architect Domenico (Mimmo) LERRO was possible thanks to the Chase Taliani Venice Scholarship, conferred on me by the Royal College of Art, on condition of participating in a collective exhibition to be held later : Venice, Royal Festival Hall, September 1986.
