BEDFORD PARK ART SCHOOL, 1983

A student project at the Royal College of Art, London.

It took a month of drawing to render the textures of stone and brickwork through cross-hatching (up to 5 directions). I was glad to take the opportunity of the time to draw in a way that I might never again have the leisure to indulge.

Exhibited at the 1984 RCA Diploma Show, this drawing caught the eye of several collectors, and Manspace Gallery wished to acquire contact prints on cartridge paper, and indicated where to have them made.

The signed edition was of three exemplars with a red ink line on the plan vignette, indicating the visual axis of the perspective construction.

One exemplar was acquired by fellow student Peter FLEISSIG, who was beginning his private Museum without walls collection.
