Collage

ENG : Just about everyone learns collage at school, and a noted academic friend has written about scrapbooks, which testify uniquely — analogously to private blogs and web-sites (the contemporary dematerialized version) — to the interests of their authors. Of course Max ERNST, Richard HAMILTON, John HEARTFIELD, Henri MATISSE, Kurt SCHWITTERS and countless others, propagandists included, have invested collage with inspirational and polisemous precedence. For me collage has served also as a design tool and a pedagogical aid, on the comparative method (subtitle to Banister FLETCHER, father & son, A History of Architecture). Hopefully there are some insights to be gained here, by listing practical applications.

FR : Presque tout le monde apprend la technique collage à l’ école, et une amie professeur a écrit sur les albums de coupures, témoins uniques — de façon analogue aux blogs et sites internet privés (la version contemporaine dématérialisée) — des intérêts de leurs auteurs. Bien sûr que Max ERNST, Richard HAMILTON, John HEARTFIELD, Henri MATISSE, Kurt SCHWITTERS et nombreux autres, propagandistes compris, ont doté les collages d’ un précédent d’ inspiration et polysémique. Quant à moi le collage a servi d’ instrument de conception et d’ outil pédagogique, sur la méthode comparative (cf. queue du titre des Banister FLETCHER, père et fils, Une Histoire de l’architecture). C’ est à espérer qu’ il y aura des aperçus à glaner, en listant des applications pratiques.

Certo che Max ERNST, Richard HAMILTON, John HEARTFIELD, Henri MATISSE, Kurt SCHWITTERS e numerosi altri, propagandisti compresi, hanno dotato i collages di un precedente di inspirazione e polisemico. Riguarda me la tecnica collage ha servito de strumento di progettazione e aiuto pedagogico, sul metodo comparativo (cf. coda del titolo dei Banister FLETCHER, padre e figlio, Una Storia dell’ architettura). C’ è da sperare che elencando le applicazioni, si percepisce qualche intuizione.
