ENG : In this instance all four side walls, including top edge cut-outs, were of identical size but assembled to square the plan, inducing a discrete element of asymmetry. The placing of circular openings however towed the symmetrical line. (Estate of the regretted Seona & Sandy LAIRD, to whom I had given this piece, last seen by myself at High Shells in 1978.)
FR : Dans cet exercice tous les quatre parois, y compris les découpes en partie haute, étaient de taille identique, mais assemblées de façon à former un plan carré, introduisant un élément discret d’ asymétrie. Le placement des ouvertures circulaires obéissait cependant à la logique de symétrique. (Succession de feu les regrettés Seona & Sandy LAIRD, à qui j’ avais fait cadeau de cet article, vu par moi-même pour la dernière fois à High Shells en 1978.)
IT : In questo esercizio tutti e quattro le pareti, compreso i ritagli in parte superiore, erano di formato identico, ma assemblati in modo di formare una sezione verticale quadrata, e introducendo un elemento discreto di asimmetria. Piazzare le aperture circolari invece obbedisce alla logica di simmetria. (Successione dei compianti Seona & Sandy LAIRD, a chi avevo fatto fait regalo di questo articolo, visto da me stesso per l’ ultima volta a High Shells nel 1978.)
