By the term ’employers’, I designate those individuals or firms which have contracted me (rather than out-sourced me) on a salaried basis, in that legally-defined one-way relationship, somewhat picturesquely referred to as that ‘of master to servant’.
Since such primitive conceptions of what is the purpose of work are so alien to my nature — my education is largely to blame for that — I have never allowed such ‘contracts’ to endure. (As Le Monde Diplomatique recently reminded its readership, citing Marx : it is respect of the contract, not its breach which implements oppression.)
